Invasive Weed Projects

Dayton Valley Conservation District is currently treating weeds along the Carson River through August 2017!

DVCD treats noxious weeds during late spring and summer. In 2016, we treated sites on the Carson River Corridor, 6 & 7 Mile Canyon and specifically identified sites through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. In 2017, we will continue treating these areas.

DVCD will be using funding from Carson Water Subconservancy District, Nevada Division of Forestry and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.

Treated Weeds:
  • Perennial Pepperweed (Tall Whitetop)
  • Hoary Cress
  • Salt Cedar
  • Scotch Thistle
  • Canada Thistle
  • Russian Knapweed
  • Spotted Knapweed
  • Yellow Star Thistle
